Catalyst Spring Symposium- Looking at the big picture: the application of “-omics” techniques in health and disease

Poster registration closes in 1 week!

What: Hear new research, network with colleagues, enjoy lunch, and support the research of students and post-doctoral fellows. Featuring two scientific sessions with 6 speakers, free lunch, snacks and coffee, and poster presentations.

When: Friday, March 20th from 10:00am-4:40pm
Where: Kannapolis City Hall (401 Laureate Way, Kannapolis NC 28081)
Why: View the latest research in talks, panels, and posters; gain experience by presenting your research; participate in a poster competition; network with researchers from universities and companies from across the Carolinas.

Cost: Registration is free! Submitting and presenting a poster is also free, and the first 120 registrants receive a free lunch. Parking is free and abundant.

Learn to Analyze Your Data in R - Vectors
Who: Everyone on campus! 
What
: Learn how to use R in your data analysis! The webinar this month will focus on using vectors in R, as well as exploring options for getting help while using R.

When: Wednesday, February 26th, 3:30-5:00pm
Where
: NRI room 1331
What to do: Register here. Registration closes on February 24th. Please bring your own laptop. We will have charging stations.

Linear and Multiple Regression - Applications in Gene Expression Data
What: A seminar/workshop that will cover statistics fundamentals, data applications, and coding examples for linear and multiple regression in R
When: Wednesday, March 4th from 3:30-5:00pm
Where: NRI room 1331
What to do: Register to attend here. Please bring your computer to the workshop. Charging stations will be available.

This seminar will present linear and multiple regression in R. We will discuss between group exposures, batch effects, and collinearity using a gene transcript data set. If you are new to R or just wondering how machines learn come by and ask your questions.
